Abstract

After 35 years of SEA practice, some fundamental lessons will be drawn about communication of SEAs covering: why it is important; what needs communicating; who we should communicate with; the roles of decision-makers, planners and stakeholders; coordination; reporting; making information available; and a case of the challenges facing Nepal.

Formerly with IIED, Barry Dalal-Clayton is an independent consultant with extensive experience of SEAs around the world and has published numerous books and papers.
