Summary Statement

This presentation shows how public affairs build trust, integrate diverse expertise, and fight misinformation—turning bold plans into shared commitments for Hydro-Québec’s 2035 Action Plan.

Abstract

In a climate of growing misinformation, building trust with stakeholders is at the heart of our work. Public affairs play a key role in fostering transparency and proximity, by listening actively and humanizing our approach. The energy transition is not just a technical challenge—it’s a societal one. That’s why structured dialogue with Québec’s strategic ecosystem—academia, industry, economic actors, and environmental organizations—is essential. Collaborating with diverse groups helps break down opacity and identify common ground, turning ambitious plans into shared commitments. This presentation explores how public affairs integrate diverse expertise and counter misinformation to strengthen social acceptability and collective ownership of Hydro-Québec’s 2035 Action Plan. A concrete example will illustrate how these principles translate into action.
