Summary Statement

Participatory approaches are critical in ensuring social assessments translate into meaningful, community-driven trust. This paper highlights Red Sea Global’s (RSG) case of communication and reporting

Abstract

Effective communication is essential for building trust and ensuring meaningful engagement in social impact assessment. At RSG, we recognize that complex technical data can be a barrier to understanding if not communicated in a clear and relatable way.
Insights gained from a recent socio-economic baseline study including data on education levels, gender roles, age distribution, and livelihoods helped us better understand the community context and tailor our communication approach accordingly. This understanding enabled us to present key information in formats that matched the community’s capacity to engage using plain language, visual summaries, and interactive discussions. As a result, we were able to improve transparency, reduce the risk of misinformation, and foster stronger relationships with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
