Steve Buckley is a Certified Professional Geologist with forty years experience, specializing in mining geology and hydrology especially related to Indigenous people. Steve was selected to participate
Steve has forty years of experience in earth science, specializing in economic geology, fluvial sedimentology, geomorphology and hydrology. He holds a B.A. and an M.S. in Geology from the University of Montana, Missoula. He applies fluvial geomorphic and hydrologic concepts to watershed analysis, stream stability and to field problems in environmental geology, seismic hazards, landslide prone evaluations, stream reclamation and all aspects of project management, including monitoring plan development, permitting and restoration construction and supervision. Steve has testified as an expert witness as Hydrologist and Geomorphologist on cases ranging from 310 Law jurisdictional cases to land ownership issues in Montana and Water Rights cases in the Flathead Basin. His latest case, involving the Sun River was recently re-affirmed by the Montana Supreme Court (see Montana Supreme Court No. 02-521 Harding vs. Savoy). Steve also has diverse exploration experience in earth science, ranging from oil and gas exploration, mineral exploration and development, project management, permitting and reclamation.
