IAIA values equitable participation and the inclusion of diverse voices in impact assessment. The Conference Inclusiveness Bursary (CIB)
Program will award a limited number of bursaries to Indigenous persons from across Canada, covering registration and travel expenses to enable full participation in IAIA26.
By reducing financial and logistical barriers, the program ensures that Indigenous perspectives, knowledge, and lived experiences are represented in conference discussions, enriching dialogue and strengthening the global impact assessment community.
Thanks to funding from the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada, a limited number of bursaries will be awarded. The application deadline is 14 November 2025.
IAIA, with support from the Government of Norway and in partnership with the Norwegian Environment Agency, offers this CBS program to aid individuals in attending IAIA26. The primary objective of this stipend to provide training and knowledge to impact assessment professionals in Norway’s partner countries who are working to sustainably manage their country’s energy resources. A select number of applicants who meet all qualifications will receive a stipend to attend the conference.

The Rita R. Hamm IA Excellence Scholarship honors the legacy that IAIA’s former CEO has left on the organization and the field of impact assessment. This scholarship allows young practitioners in the region of the host country to attend the IAIA annual conference. Potential candidates are those who have never attended an IAIA annual conference in the past and who have submitted an abstract to present a paper at IAIA26 by the 30 October abstract deadline.
The application deadline is 8 January 2026.
STUDENT REGISTRATION FEE DISCOUNT: A discounted student registration fee is available for students who provide proof of their student status, such as a copy of a recent transcript, letter from an administrative professional, or a copy of a dated student ID card. Applications for free course registrations will be accepted from 18 March – 7 April 2026. Allocations of the free training course slots will be made by 10 April based on the order in which the requests were received and subject to instructor approval.
